TAKING THE REINS

LEVERAGING THE POWER OF INTENTION TO INITIATE THE NEXT LEVEL OF LEADERSHIP

Leverage the Power of Intention to Transform Your Leadership Style

How do we harness the power of our intention to drive meaningful change in personal and professional lives? And how do we bring intentional thought into fruition? This workshop takes participants deep into the power of intention and how it influences our interpersonal communication, ability to lead others and organizations and how we communicate our intent - sometimes unknowingly - to others.

We will explore how intent, paired with horse sense and herd inspired wisdom, can drive meaningful change in an organization.

Leading from Behind - Harnessing The Power of the Herd

Leveraging the ancient wisdom from traditional herding cultures, where tribes must manage large groups of powerful animals without the benefit of fences, we explore the non-verbal facets and sophisticated understanding of leadership and group cohesion. Master Herders utilize a subtle and nuanced approach to motivation, reward and cohesion as they move through seasonal grazing lands, facing predators, and dealing with changing climates/resources along the way. This ancient wisdom, virtually lost to modern “civilized” leaders, is based in part on the little known fact that among cattle and horses, the herd leader and the herd dominant are often two different animals. Furthermore, group coordination and solidarity are reinforced through acts of daily acts of companionship and nurturing.

In This Two and a Half Day Workshop You Will Develop the Ability To:
  • Employ the roles of Leader, Dominant, and Nurturer/Companion
  • Use your own body as a “sensing device” capable of reading the unspoken moods/concerns of co-workers, employees, and clients
  • Use emotions as information, professionally (without, ironically, discussing the emotions themselves)
  • Engage non-verbal leadership skills associated with assertiveness, timing, focus, energy modulation, motivation, experimentation, and boundaries-in-motion—with sensitivity to the needs of others
  • Set boundaries in ways that create mutually respectful relationships
  • Balance embodied reason and embodied intuition in realizing a goal
  • Recognize and move beyond limiting behavior and thought patterns to achieve optimal performance.
